How I started content creation: putting myself out there

Content creation was something I had always admired.
I would see people creating content, sharing their experiences, and talking about what they do, and I always admired them. But admiring something and actually doing it are two different things.
For me, that changed in 2025.
My sister sent me a link to a 30-day visibility challenge hosted by Adeife Adeoye, and she was like, "You've always wanted to do this." At first, I didn't even want to register.
In fact, I didn't know we were going to start recording videos and creating video content. I thought it was just going to involve posting on LinkedIn.
Well, I eventually joined, and I committed to the challenge for the entire 30 days.
But let me tell you something. The process wasn't as easy as it might sound.
At the time, I was using a Redmi A3, and that phone could hang for Africa.
Imagine trying to edit a video, only for your phone to keep freezing. I could spend up to five hours editing a single short video. Exporting would also take a lot of time.
It was frustrating, but I kept going.
Looking back, I think completing that challenge taught me something about showing up even when the conditions aren't perfect. I didn't have the best phone or the smoothest experience, but I was determined to participate.
That 30-day visibility challenge was what pushed me into content creation.
It gave me the push to start talking about what I do, sharing tips for tech beginners, discussing mistakes from my journey, and documenting the things I was learning along the way.
Instead of just admiring people who created content, I had started creating my own.
And the interesting part?
It didn't end when the 30-day challenge was over.
I had taken the first step, and I was beginning to discover what it meant to put myself out there.
That challenge became the starting point of my content creation journey, and I'm glad my sister sent me that link.
Sometimes, all you need is that one push to finally start doing something you've admired for a long time.
